(Retired) Moon wide leg pants, culottes or shorts (PDF)

I purchased this pattern knowing that the wide legs were not my favorite style. My purpose in sewing this pattern was to see how well they would fit for my petite size. I shy away from sewing pants because for me it is a hassle to get the crotch right. I find with most pant patterns making one change seems to lead to 2 or 3 other changes. I was thrilled that the crotch fit perfectly with this pattern, no adjustments needed. I made the shorts. I chose a size too large for my hips because I was using my waist measurement. The instructions clearly state to use your hip measurement, so this my issue, not the pattern. In the end with taking deeper side seams and tapering the leg width, I ended up with a nice pair of shorts. Instructions were most helpful and glad again that the crotch fit perfectly and will be my sloper for another pant/short pattern. I have now purchased another short pattern from Sinclair Patterns and have them in my sewing line up.
